Here is What You’ll Need

To make CBD infused sugar, there are only two ingredients the recipe calls for. The main ingredient you can’t purchase at the grocery store. That ingredient is CBD isolate. CBD isolate is easy to use and very affordable. If you would like to purchase isolate or read more information on it, here is the company we have been using:

The only other ingredient you will need is the sugar you are infusing with! You will also need some equipment.

We recommend that the potency of the CBD-infused sugar be calculated before making it. This will give you the freedom to adjust the recipe until the dosage fits your preferences. If you want to calculate the potency of each recipe you make, you must know the potency of the infused sugar. Furthermore, if you know the sugar’s potency, you’ll be able to determine how many mg of CBD are in each portion of the recipe.

To calculate the potency, you will need to measure the amount of CBD isolate used in the infusion. The package the CBD comes in may have guidelines and directions for how to measure it. We use a scale to measure the amount of CBD used in each recipe we make. CBD is measured in milligrams (mg), so if the scale reads 0.1g (grams) that is equivalent to 100mg.

We recommend that you use approximately 0.5 grams of CBD isolate per cup of sugar, which is equivalent to 500mg of CBD for every cup of sugar. At the bottom of this article, we have a potency calculator that you can use to help calculate the dosage you want! Do this prior to making the infused sugar so you know precisely how much CBD isolate to add!

If you need a scale to measure the CBD isolate for the infusion, this is the scale we recommend: here is a link to the scale we use which can be purchased on Amazon!

Potency Calculator

The potency calculator below can be used to calculate a dosage you like! We recommend you adjust the calculator prior to making the CBD sugar until you find a dosage that fits your needs. By doing this you will know exactly how much sugar and CBD isolate you need for the recipe.

Once you have calculated the total milligrams of CBD per tablespoon of sugar, you can use that to calculate the mg of CBD in each portion of any recipe you make. Make sure you divide the recipe into even-sized portions so that the measurement is accurate.
