When it comes to the potency of your homemade edibles, it’s hard to determine just how potent they really are. We have created a dosage calculator to help estimate the potency of the homemade weed cookies. To get an accurate measurement, you will need to know the potency of the cannabis butter first. You can find the dosage calculator for the cannabis butter at the bottom of that recipe – click here to find that calculator.

Once you know the potency of your cannabis butter, you can input it into this dosage calculator below. Keep in mind, this is just a rough estimate. Also if you make an error in the calculation at the start, it will carry through until the end.

Enter the amount of cannabis you are using to infuse butter, oil, milk, etc.

Decarboxylation doesn't have 100% efficiency and it typically 70-90%. This means about 10-30% of potential THC is lost. This is a rough estimate on your edible potency.

This calculator will help you with the potency of your cookies. All you need to do is fill out your own values and it will tell you the potency per cookie.

If you’re a beginner to cannabis, I would recommend making cookies with around 5mg – 15mg of THC per cookie.

We haven't tried with this specific recipe, but you can just find a cookie recipe that uses oil instead and just substitute the oil in that recipe for cannabis-infused oil! Hope this helped 🙂

How did you make your cannabutter? Cause your quantity of weed seems a lot. I'm asking you because I want to figure out if it worths it to increase my quantity of weed in my cannabutter recipe. Thanks

Absolutely. If you’re making cannabis edibles, the number-one priority should always be to keep them out of The reach of children & animals.

I've made this recipe twice with grown product this year. This was my first time with making & in all honesty. Most people that have sampled came up with the same results. It's a trip. So if you're going to make this be very careful to moderate. I've reduced samples to just half.

I halved this recipe because we had only half a cup of butter. I added a teaspoon of cinnamon to further mask the dank smell. They turned out FANTASTIC. I made small cookies because I didn't know how potent my butter was, and I got 40 bite sized cookies from a halved batch. The small bites were enough to provide a small buzz, so they were perfect. This recipe is easily adaptable to add a wide range of fun flavours for your weed cookies, like peppermint extract or orange zest or peanut butter. Thanks for the recipe!
