Equipment

  • Oven
  • Baking Tray

Ingredients

Instructions

  • Spread 2 cups of your granulated sugar evenly on a baking tray.
  • Pour 1 cup of your cannabis tincture over top of the sugar. Make sure to mix evenly while your pour. Do the same with the citric acid
  • Preheat the oven to 200 degrees. Put the baking tray inside the oven but DO NOT shut the oven door. This step is to evaporate the alcohol from the mixture.
Warning: DO NOT shut the oven door.
  • Every 15-20 minutes mix the cannabis sugar. Continue doing this for 2 and 1/2 hours. When the cannabis sugar is the same consistency as regular sugar, you're done!

Notes

Make sure to open all windows and doors when the sugar is in the oven. As the alcohol evaporates from the sugar, these fumes will need to ventilate. What most people do is have a fan beside their oven that is pointing towards an open window. In short, the more ventilation, the better. You do not want to be breathing these fumes.
Warning:
Put the baking tray inside the oven but DO NOT shut the oven door. This step is to evaporate the alcohol from the mixture.

  1. I have found that letting the tincture shit too long only pulls out more chlorophyll. That’s why some are bright green. 24-48 hours is a good soak.

  2. I like this, however, I think you need to be more specific about the dangers of alcohol in the oven and how the fumes can ignite. Newbies doing this won’t understand. Even if you state to keep the oven door open, I think you need to be clearer about the dangers.

  3. Hi, do you think this recipe will work the same on vegan or raw sugar? White sugar in the USA is not vegan (processed with animal bones); curious if you think this will generally work with other kids of sugar granules? thanks.

    • Hello Allie,

I believe if you follow the same process, it should still work the same. We have not tried this so please leave a comment with your results!

      Cheers,
      Jake

  4. Is the potency calculator based on 1cup of tincture poured over 1 cup of sugar OR is it based on your recipe of 2 cup of sugar to 1 cup of tincture with the calculator giving me dosing of 1 of those 2 cups.
    Im confused.
    Thanks

    • Hello Monica, the potency calculator is based on the recipe using 2 cups of sugar and 1 cup of tincture. Furthermore, the calculator is giving you the dosage for each cup of sugar. I hope this answers your question.

Could I soak the decarbed bud overnight in everclear and use it the next day to make the sugar? As opposed to leaving it for a few weeks? I’ve seen some sites say to soak for 20 minutes or so. I don’t know if there a a difference in letting it sit for 10 hours vs 3 weeks vs 20 minutes. Thank you for your help!
