When it comes to the potency of your homemade edibles, it’s hard to determine just how potent they really are. We have created a dosage calculator to help estimate the potency of the homemade weed cookies. To get an accurate measurement, you will need to know the potency of the cannabis butter first. You can find the dosage calculator for the cannabis butter at the bottom of that recipe – click here to find that calculator.

Once you know the potency of your cannabis butter, you can input it into this dosage calculator below. Keep in mind, this is just a rough estimate. Also if you make an error in the calculation at the start, it will carry through until the end.

Enter the amount of cannabis you are using to infuse butter, oil, milk, etc.

Decarboxylation doesn't have 100% efficiency and it typically 70-90%. This means about 10-30% of potential THC is lost. This is a rough estimate on your edible potency.

This calculator will help you with the potency of your cookies. All you need to do is fill out your own values and it will tell you the potency per cookie.

If you’re a beginner to cannabis, I would recommend making cookies with around 5mg – 15mg of THC per cookie.

The cookies turned out amazing. I'm a beginner at making my own edibles, I'm curious what is the best way to store them? They seemed to lose some potentcy after a week or so.

Freezing, I freeze any I don't eat the first day – in an air tight container, then microwave for 20-30 seconds just the ones I want to eat – I find this retains the potency much longer.

Can anyone recommend a great cookie recipe with oil instead of butter? I have a whole jar of oil and I'm looking for baked goods to me that will also freeze well.

This was my first experience making cannabis cookies as a novice baker and they turned out perfectly. Made smaller cookies and ended up with 50. Happy holidays friends, enjoy!

It was my first time making cannabis cookies and I was so nervous I would ruin the dough and waste all the cannabutter I had made. But they turned out great! I had *just* under a cup of butter so they were slightly dry on the outside but the inside was gooey and soft. Overall the cookies came out perfect for 4/20 and I’ll definitely use this recipe again.
